My sister played this a lot yeaaars ago and I should play it eventually too.

😄 I completed this game weeks ago (on-stream) and it was a bit of a pain in the ass to do so but I'm such a fan of this series now.

Yeaaars ago, I originally watched probably all of these Klonoa reviews and believed Mark when he said I'd like these games, and yeaaaars later, I stream and I've completed the first one and am on the laat world (I believe) of the second game. Through the "Reverie Series" on PS4. They really are such good games so far, I'm definitely gonna play this one too eventually.

This and Shenmue were my first games on the system. Still look like modern games. Dreamcast was and is a beast.

I can thank my babysitter for getting me into Atari, she had one of these and I loved it, already loved arcade games so it was something very interesting to me, I actually have one now set up on a 19 inch 2007 Phillips tv and honestly I’ve played both the original Atari and this, since they run off the same hardware unlike when at games took over I’m happy enough with just that, I prefer the original played on a 1980s tv set that I no longer have

The slowdown is super irritating. It's a shame that this the only accessible R-Type game on the SNES. R-Type 3 is ludicrously expensive.

Interesting stuff with the Star Wars commentary (I can't stand it, personally, but I get why it's still a big thing to a lot of people.) As a creator, when things seem bad, I tend to look toward the things that other people have made that inspire me. Sometimes, you can't help but worry that the thing you're making is going to have about as much impact as the fart of a sparrow in the face of a hurricane. But there's a lot of joy in the simple task of making it.

Bahahah I can't beelive I found this video. I had the record in the game in a magazine back in the 80's :D :D :D The controls are not broken! They key to this game was using your SHIELD for the bulk of your kills along with the colllisions of the enemy kills to kill other enemies... you can actually direct those things... and the gun is only usd to give you time to recharge the shield if you had to clear a escape path :D

This game was never meant to compete with afterburner 2. But afterburner 2 was not full 3D. Genesis was being pushed hard here. I had fun with this game at the time, especially launching the missiles.

The podcast rocks dude. Would listen to a CGR radio show all day. Like a GTA radio station but with just synth music and brief intermissions from DJ Mark dropping random thoughts or facts before going back to the music 👌

All CGR needs now is his own game, side scrolling run and gun, 8 bit sprites with chiptunes, WOOOO!!
